Adding an Assignment

Assigning

Use this process for assigning any type of assignment (Lessons, Chapter tests, Projects, Assessments, Custom activities, etc.)

From the Home page, select the Classes menu option.



Select the the desired class tile.



Click the Add a new assignment button.



Find assignments using the Assignment type and Curriculum filter dropdown menus, or by typing keywords in the search bar.



Once the desired assignment has been located, click Assign in either the PDF or Digital box.  



Assignment Settings

On the Assignment Settings page, there are several parameters that need to be set before adding the assignment to the class. 

Select students using the checkboxes, and click Assign selected. 



All students in the class will be automatically selected when first adding an assignment. If the assignment is only intended for certain students, click the checkbox next to the Student Name to deselect the student.

Edit the assignment details by selected the Start date/time, Due date/time, and adding any Notes for students. Click Assign.



For chapter tests, students will be unable to access the assignment outside of the Start and Due date/times. Learn more.
For all assignment types, the Start date/time is set for a future date/time, the assignment will appear as locked to the student until that date/time occurs.


If you need to edit any of these details for one or more students, select the intended students and click Edit selected.




Adding Retakes

It is possible to assign some or all students in the class one or more assignment retakes. To do so, click Add Retake.


Select the intended student(s), and click Assign selected to set the Start date/time, Due date/time, and Notes for this retake.


Individual students can be assigned multiple retakes by continuing to click the Add Retake button.

Unassigning

Initial assignments and retakes can be unassigned from any or all students. Click the gear icon on the Class Details page if you need to return to your assignment settings.



Select the students to unassign the assignment from, and click Unassign selected.


Unassigning is a permanent action that will delete any associated student scores and responses.
